A rewarding part of any principal’s job is seeing their ECD center at full capacity, with happy and healthy children enjoying their early learning experience.
Enrolments are the bread and butter of ECD centers, and as such must be handled with care and with the child’s (and parents’) best interest in mind.
Pay particular attention to detail so that you get it the right first time!
1. Communicate! Communicate! Communicate!
2. Respect for each other is critically important.
3. Have systems in place – make sure the documentation and processes are ethical and will protect both the ECD center and the employees.
4. Always maintain your employees’ rights.
5. Don’t deviate from labour procedures. There are no shortcuts.
6. Know the facts – South African labour practices are liable to change and disgruntled employees can cause financial havoc.
